The purpose of this study is to understand the life experience of persons with acquired hearing loss and explore the recovery process. They go from hearing to hearing loss, experiencing dramatic changes in their hearts, adjusting and recovering. And to study what intrinsic resilience people who have acquired hearing loss have to adapt to hearing loss adversity. Three participants, aged 40 to 43 years, with more than 35 years of hearing loss, were recruited by means of conceptual sampling using the phenomenological method of qualitative research. The researcher conducted the interview with semi-structured in-depth interview method. Based on the analysis of the interview text, the research results are as follows:

The recovery process of persons with acquired hearing loss can be divided into two recovery paths, five stages and three stages. The five periods are deteriorating, adapting , recovering , rebouning and growing . Path one is a linear recovery process; path two is to recover upward after bouncing back to the bottom of the valley after suffering from excessive hearing loss or hearing impairment. There are three stages after persons with acquired hearing loss experience hearing impaired adversity: survival level, status quo level and strengthened resilience level. This study found that the common types of resilience of persons with acquired hearing loss were personality traits, beliefs and attitudes, and coping skills.

According to the results of this study, suggestions on how schools and companies can improve accessibility and services are provided. Tips for helping workers working with persons with acquired hearing loss. Some suggestions are proposed for future research on the rehabilitation process of persons with hearing loss.
