This study aimed to explore the factors associated with Malaysian-Chinese parents talking sexuality topics with their children by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The respondents were Malaysian-Chinese parents with children between the ages of 7-12. The survey was conducted through the SurveyCake online platform and received 418 valid response questionnaires. The collected survey data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Person correlation analysis, multiple regressions and simple regressions. The findings of the study are as follow:

1. The current situation of attitudes towards behavior (AB), subjective norms (SN), perceived behavioral control (PBC) and behavioral intention (BI) on Malaysian-Chinese parents talking sexuality topics with their children intended to be positive. The average was between 4.36 and 5.58 (between "neutral", "agreed", and "strongly agreed").

2. The attitudes toward behavior, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control were positively correlated (r=.22~.69) with "behavioral intention" of Malaysian-Chinese parents talking sexuality topics with their children.

3. The attitudes towards behavior, perceived behavioral control and behavioral intention were positively correlated (r=.39~.43) with the "behavior" of Malaysian-Chinese parents talking sexuality topics with their children; only the "subjective norm" was irrelevant to the "behavior".

4. The "attitudes towards behavior", "subjective norms", "perceived behavioral control", and "whether parents are willing to participate in parental sexuality education program in future" were predictors of the "behavioral intention" of Malaysian-Chinese parents talking sexuality topics with their children, the overall explaination on the "behavioral intention" was 64%. The PBC was the strongest predictor (47%) of "behavior intention" in the TPB components, while the subjective norms had the weakest (1%).

5. The "attitudes toward behavior", "perceived behavioral control", and "behavior intention" each were significant predictors of the "behavior" of Malaysian-Chinese parents talking with their children on sexuality topics.

6. Different background variables of Malaysian-Chinese parents in terms of "Gender", "Age", "Marital status", and "Children Gender" were not significant differences in the attitudes towards behavior, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and behavior intentions of Malaysian-Chinese parents talking sexuality topics with their children. However, other background variables such as different "education level", "religion", "status of parent-child communication", "whether parents have talked about sexuality topics with their children", and "whether parents have participated in parental sexuality education program in the past" showed significant partial differences.

Based on the above findings, the "attitudes toward behavior" and "perceived behavioral control" are the main factors that influence the "intention" and "behavior" of Malaysian-Chinese parents talking to their children on sexuality topics. At the same time, PBC is a significant predictor of improving their intention and behavior. Therefore, increasing knowledge on topics relating to sexuality among parents and enhancing their communication skills and self-efficacy would help parents who have a positive attitude toward behavior improve the intention and behavior of talking to their children on sexuality topics.

Hence, the findings and conclusions from this study are compiled with appropriate suggestions to provide reference for government agencies, schools, sexuality educators, parents and other mediums, as well as for future studies.
