Taiwan is small and densely populated, and the housing issue has always been a topic of concern to the Taiwanese. With the housing prices in urban areas rising almost year by year, buying or renting a house is a huge burden for most young people or economically disadvantaged families. The housing policy for the housing rights of disadvantaged groups is imperative, and the promotion of "social housing" is one of the focus items of the policy. However, the promotion of social housing is time-consuming and costly. Not all disadvantaged groups have the opportunity or choice to live in social housing, and they each face different living problems. Currently, it is found from the past literature references that there is no research on the residential needs of domestic youth groups. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth investigation of social housing demanders. This research takes the youth public housing in Tainan City as the research object. The purpose of this research is to explore the demand characteristics of youth demanders through questionnaire survey, quantitative data and qualitative analysis, and to propose relevant policy promotion strategies for the reference of the county, city and government to formulate construction plans in the future. This research explores the development process of our country's housing policy through literature review and questionnaire surveys, and uses questionnaires to explore the perceptions, views, and needs of young people over 20 years old living in Tainan about our country's youth public housing policy. The survey results show that about 43.5% have not heard of our country's youth public housing policy. Among those living and working in Tainan, nearly 80% have not yet fully understood the substance. However, the general public supports the social housing policy positively , believes that good policies should be continuously promoted and implemented, and there is a high proportion of young people between the ages of 25 and 30 who have rental housing needs, and they also take youth public housing as their first choice when renting, showing that the youth public housing policy is in line with the expectations of the Taiwanese.
