This documentary is mainly discussing about the relationship between the disabled and the caregiver. After 10 months of hard and difficult times, a new born comes into this world which should bring joy and delight. But the world is full of surprises. Some people are born with disabilities and when times passes by, causing problems, both physically and mentally. Take jaundice for instance. It will cause fever later affect the body and mind. If affect severely, it could damage the host’s neural system even intelligence. In this documentary, the interviewee is a main caregiver of a patient with multiple severe cerebral paralysis, Ms. Chen Siou-Yu (later known as Ms. Chen). Since the age of 17, Ms. Chen takes care of Chen Ming-Jhe’s (later known as Mr. Chen) living. Although it is a hard, long road, Ms. Chen never feels tired taking care of her brother. With her hard work and effort, it inspires her brother of his goal of survival and the meaning of life. Mr. Chen later find interest in reading. Afterwards with the suggestion of his physiotherapist, he encountered boccia. Boccia then became Mr. Chen’s favorite sport, he then become one of the main boccia national athlete of Taiwan. Many said that “Anything which could be solved with money is rather minor”. But when this “anything” involves a person, there is a slightest possibility that the negligence of the caregiver could cause other matters. How many caregivers could really be at one’s side at all times? On the one hand, taking care day and night; On the other, the financial burden. When the candle is burning on both ends, how do we torn on both sides? What will be the result? Spotlight on the disabled, but how about the caregiver who is always behind the curtains?
