In 2020, the World Health Organization declared the new coronavirus COVID-19 a global pandemic. COVID-19 is a pneumonia-related respiratory disease. The spread of the virus is very rapid. The number of deaths in countries around the world continues to rise, and the virus is constantly evolving. Although there are vaccines that can reduce the severe death of infected patients, they still cause a heavy economic and social burden around the world.
Traditional Chinese medicine and Indian medicine have a long history of development. Many medicinal plants have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-viral, immune-regulating and therapeutic effects such as respiratory diseases, which may prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection. and make important contributions to clinical management. This study collected and analyzed Indian Ayurvedic medicine and Chinese herbal plants as antiviral studies on COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 by means of systematic literature review and analysis.
This study adopted a systematic review method to summarize available data on Ayurvedic medicine and Chinese herbal as antiviral research on COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2. The following Chinese databases to be searched are the Airiti Library (CEPS), National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan with Full Text. The English databases to be searched are PubMed, Embase, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, Scopus with Full Text. The author conducted a systematic review of the literature that would be publish before Dec. 2021.
