The thesis shares the story of my art journey, the shift of perception in the course of it, and how I use it to express in the work. First, I describe the early days of learning dyeing techniques in Japan, then my current relationship with art, and how my work has been influenced. The goal is to share the aesthetics and harmony in art with viewer through my artwork - not only to satisfy my own desire of creation, but also to resonate with others with the mutual who also have love for art. Therefore, I have studied the patterns and colors that people find beautiful, further explored the principles of beauty, and then used them to analyze my work. The topic of the thesis is " Effects of a soulful entity", which means that the word "effects" in crafts not only refers to the function and usability of the object, but also includes the intangible aspect. Later in the thesis, I explored the Asian culture of wrapping with dyed and decorated fabric and the spirituality in it. I have in turn further developed my own way of expression. I have also held an exhibition in Broom gallery in Tainan city. During the show, I distributed questionnaires to the guests, and the analyzed their feedback to understand their impressions of the exhibition. Lastly, I conduce the thesis with my motivation for art creation from four aspects: inquisitiveness, self-identity, curative effects, and preservation of memory.
