To enhance students' physical fitness performance, the Physical Education Department of the Ministry of Education in Taiwan has continuously revised and innovated sports programs. In 2014 (academic year 103), physical fitness was officially included as a bonus for college admissions. This policy has attracted the attention of many parents and students. Its purpose is not only to improve students' motivation for sports but also to encourage everyone to recognize the importance of sports for life and health. This study takes school districts as the independent variable and physical fitness performance as the dependent variable. Based on the principles of the multi-dimensional learning performance adopted by the twelve-year basic education system, the entire country is divided into 15 school districts. Among them, 11 school districts include physical fitness in the evaluation, while 4 school districts do not. The study participants were male and female students in the ninth grade, aged 14 to 15, in the year 2020 (academic year 108). There were 16,096 14-year-old boys, 54,973 15-year- old boys, 15,164 14-year-old girls, and 52,522 15-year-old girls. The research methods included independent sample t-tests, descriptive statistics, and regression analysis to examine the differences in physical fitness performance among different school districts. The aim was to explore iii 3 whether including physical fitness in the bonus points for high school and vocational school, admissions would improve the physical fitness performance of students in the 15 school districts nationwide. The research results showed that there were four indicators in which the bonus point districts outperformed the non-bonus point districts, while the non-bonus point districts outperformed the bonus point districts in eight indicators. Therefore, the physical fitness performance of the non-bonus point districts was better than that of the bonus point districts. In the regression analysis, seven different factors were included to investigate whether they influenced physical fitness performance. The results showed that among the factors related to school district classification, only the sit- and-reach test showed a significant negative correlation, while the other factors, including sit-ups, standing long jump, and cardiorespiratory fitness, showed no significant correlation.
