Background: The novel coronavirus disease (coronavirus, COVID-19) has caused a global pandemic, and the number of confirmed cases and deaths has continued to increase so far. When nursing staff standing on the front line of care face this sudden-emerging and highly infectious disease, especially at the beginning of the epidemic, the unknown and insufficient information about the disease cause nursing staff to have great psychological threats and negative emotions when caring for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients. Domestic and foreign studies have confirmed that front-line medical staff have relatively high anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress and post-traumatic stress syndrome during the epidemic. Nurses are the largest number of people in the medical care system and they play an indispensable role, especially female caregivers, who have to take on the role that society entrusts to them. Therefore, only by protecting front-line caregivers, understanding and solving their specific sources of anxiety and insomnia, and providing them active care and immediate support can nursing staff stick to the anti-epidemic defense line and protect the health of the public
Purpose: This study will explore stress relief methods for nurses and the impact of anxiety and sleep quality in the face of global COVID-19. It examines the relationship between stress relief methods, anxiety and sleep quality, as well as important factors affecting stress relief, anxiety and sleep quality.
Methods:. his study is a cross-sectional study, with female nurses in a regional teaching hospital in southern Taiwan as the research objects. Cases are received from March 2023 to May 2023. Cases were accepted using a standardized structured questionnaire. The content of the questionnaire includes basic demographic characteristics, stress relief questionnaire, anxiety self-rating scale, and sleep quality scale. Sampling was done intentionally, and after obtaining the consent of the research subjects, the questionnaires were filled out, and 245 valid samples were collected. SPSS 26.0 was used for statistical analysis, and statistical methods included descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Appropriate analysis methods are adopted according to the level of variable measurement in the research purpose, which are expected to include t test, single factor analysis of variance, post hoc test, and linear regression. In this study.
Results:The research results showed that the age in the basic demographics of female nurses and whether they had administrative positions had significant differences in the way of stress dressing; considering the experience of infectious patients and worrying about family members being discriminated against because of work, there were significant differences in anxiety, which is the influence on sleep An important factor of quality; female personnel are the main source of family income in the family, and there are significant differences in sleep quality, which is also an important factor affecting sleep quality. There was no correlation between stressful sleep patterns and anxiety and sleep quality, but there was a positive correlation between anxiety and sleep quality.
