According to academic research reports, effective product reliability management is considered one of the key capabilities for companies to compete for orders. Utilizing environmental testing and analysis to enhance a product's strength limits during design, identifying design or material flaws in the product, and screening them out can help prevent unnecessary losses resulting from product failures due to environmental stress during future usage. This study focuses on the products of the "J Technology" company, aiming to ensure that they meet both company and customer specifications in terms of design quality and share practical case studies in laboratory environmental equipment testing. The research project targets the voice coil motor of the case company. It begins by estimating the product's lifespan (mean time between failures) using the part count method from the U.S. Military Handbook MIL-HDBK-217F based on the product's Bill of Materials (BOM). Then, it estimates the product's lifespan using the part count method from the manufacturer's Data Sheet, comparing the differences in product lifespan values between the two estimation methods. Finally, a reliability identification test is conducted at an accelerated lifespan test with a temperature of 85°C and humidity of 75% to verify if the product's lifespan values from both estimation methods meet the design (customer) target of 100,000 hours. When engaging in reliability identification and verification, zero defects cannot be predicted. If a fault occurs during the verification process, it must be repaired immediately and returned to the test to continue the test. Usually R&D and quality control personnel must invest in improvement actions at this stage. It is more economical to immediately change all samples and re-verify the reliability. In summary, this research provides methods for product reliability estimation and identification. It allows for understanding the range of product lifespan during the product design and production stages, ensuring product reliability and offering significant benefits to the commercial transaction model of the product.
