The data for this search is sourced from the Panel Study of Family Dynamics (PSFD) in the Survey Research Data Archive (SRDA) for the years 2016 and 2018. The search incorporates the Financial Vulnerability Index (FVI) developed by Ting-Ru Wei (2022) for conducting relevant analyses. This research aims to investigate whether household financial vulnerability in Taiwan affects individuals' self-rated health and whether there is a significant negative relationship between the two. Due to the endogeneity issue between financial vulnerability and self-rated health, this search employs instrumental variable (IV) methods to explore their relationship. The household size is used as the instrumental variable (IV), and both two-stage least squares (2SLS) and ordered probit models are employed for regression analysis. The results demonstrate that both the two-stage least squares (2SLS) regression and ordered probit models indicate a significant negative impact of objective financial vulnerability on self-rated health. Moreover, even after incorporating subjective self-assessment of personal finances, both methods still demonstrate a significant negative impact of objective and subjective financial vulnerability on self-rated health, which is consistent with the overall findings.
