The purpose of this thesis is to compare the two education systems in two Asian
countries, Vietnam and Taiwan, from a homeschooling perspective. At the same
time, question the contrast between Taiwan’s and Vietnam’s education systems
and why there are such differences. This research was conducted on the basis of
analyzing the structure of the two education systems and investigating the
similarities and differences between homeschooling in Taiwan and Vietnam, the
factors that affect parents' decisions to homeschool their kids, and the advantages
and disadvantages of doing so for both the parents and the kids. The research
results show significant differences between Taiwan's and Vietnam's home
education systems. While Taiwanese parents may decide what kind of
homeschooling is best for their children, Vietnamese parents have fewer options
when they wish to teach their children at home. Taiwanese parents have various
options that allow them to feel at ease about letting their kids learn at home.
Homeschooled students in Vietnam now need help participating in higher
education because the practice is neither officially prohibited nor recognized.
