約克．鮑文（York Bowen, 1884-1961）為浪漫主義後期至20世紀的英國音樂家，以浪漫主義為主要的創作風格，《第一號c小調中提琴奏鳴曲作品18》是鮑文在22歲時所創作的作品，在當時中提琴獨奏作品還並不是那麼多見，而此曲也在中提琴奏鳴曲中，佔有一席的地位。
本論文以約克．鮑文《第一號c小調中提琴奏鳴曲作品18》（1905）探討曲式架構與演奏詮釋，全文共有五個章節：第一章為序論，包含研究動機與目的、研究範圍與方法；第二章為約克．鮑文之生平與《第一號c小調中提琴奏鳴曲作品18》創作背景；第三章為樂曲分析；第四章為樂曲詮釋；第五章為結論。

York Bowen (York Bowen, 1884-1961) was a British musician from romanticism to the 20th century, with romanticism as the main creative style. "Viola Sonata No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 18" was composed by Bowen when he was 22 years old. At that time, viola solo works were not so common, and this piece also played a role in bringing the viola to the solo instrument.

This thesis is based on York Bowen's "Viola Sonata No. 1 in C Minor Op. 18" (1905) discusses the musical structure and performance interpretation. The full article includes five chapters: the first chapter introduces the research motivation and purpose, research scope and methods; the second chapter describes York Bowen's life and the creative background of "Viola Sonata No. 1 in C Minor Op. 18"; the third chapter analyzes the piece; the fourth chapter present the personal interpretation of the piece by the author of the researh; the fifth chapter is the conclusion.
