本研究旨在探討中高齡者居家改造的經驗學習歷程,其研究目的為:(一)瞭解中
高齡者的居家改造與改造動機;(二)瞭解中高齡者實際執行居家改造的內容、學習經
驗、結果;(三)探討中高齡者居家改造的經驗學習模式;(四)提供有居家改造需求
之中高齡者學習參考。本研究為質性取向,共訪談12位在50歲後,曾改造過居家環境
的中高齡者,使用半結構式訪談法,針對其居家空間改造經驗學習歷程進行深度訪談,
以蒐集資料。
研究結果發現:中高齡者居家空間改造之動機,包括:(一)因應老化,活用居家
空間、(二)心態轉換,想回歸簡單的生活、(三)使自己的心情愉悅;中高齡者居家
空間改造之經驗,包括:(一)學習策略:資料蒐集與互動及討論、(二)實際行動策
略:清理與收拾,營造乾淨和整齊的空間、更新及修補,打造健康環境;中高齡者居
家空間改造之結果,包括:(一)有效運用有限的空間,安全且便利、(二)舒適且自
在,更喜歡待在家、(三)公私空間劃分清楚 ,有獨處空間並能維持社會參與。
根據研究結果,建議考慮居家改造者:檢視自身情況、反思適合的居家空間、善
用資源(如:網路影片、家居店、五金行等)、做中學、享受居家生活,分享空間和經
驗;建議曾進行改造者:定期檢視環境、保持斷捨離習慣、必要時重啟改造、維持人
際互動;建議政府單位:開設居家空間改造課程、整合居家空間改造資訊;建議未來
研究納入空間設計業者觀點、深入探討空間設計業者因應高齡社會的能力。
This study aims to explore the experiential learning process of home renovation among
middle-aged and elderly individuals. The research objectives are: (1) To understand the
motivations behind home renovations for middle-aged and elderly individuals; (2) To
comprehend the actual content, learning experiences, and outcomes of these renovations; (3)
To investigate the experiential learning models in home renovations; (4) To provide learning
references for those in need of home renovations. This qualitative study involved interviews
with 12 individuals, aged 50 and above, who had renovated their living spaces. Using semi

The findings revealed that the motivations for home renovations among middle-aged and
elderly individuals include: (1) Adapting to aging by optimizing living space; (2) A shift in
mindset towards a simpler life; (3) Enhancing personal well-being. Their renovation
experiences encompass: (1) Learning strategies such as information gathering, interaction, and
discussion; (2) Practical strategies like cleaning, organizing, creating a clean and tidy space,
updating and repairing to build a healthy environment. The outcomes of these renovations
include: (1) Efficient use of limited space, ensuring safety and convenience; (2) Increased
comfort and enjoyment of home life; (3) Clear division of private and public spaces, providing
solitude while maintaining social engagement.
