In the past, sewage recycling and reuse has not been considered by domestic sewage treatment plant in Taiwan. Most of them were discharged directly to rivers and seas after primary treatment to meet effluent standards. In recent years, the shortage issues of Taiwan's water resource have become more serious. Most of local governments have established water recycling centers to replace domestic sewage treatment plants. Therefore, the level of sewage treatment must be upgraded and the treatment process has become more complicated. Also, this will usually cause the builder to delay construction project. Thus, this study used water recycling project as an example. There are three main criterions of Construction, Environment, and Management and a total of nine submain criterions to explore the influencing factors of the schedule management. In order to effectively manage the schedule of water recycling construction project, the hierarchical analysis method was used to assess and clarify the impact factors of construction schedule. The results showed as follows: the main criterions of schedule management of water recycling project are respectively Management (42.56%), Construction (36.38%), and Environment (21.06%); the impact facters of Management criterion are 「Lack of field investigation」(19.98%) and 「Lack of construction budget」, another the impact factor of Construction criterion is 「 Project scheduling mistake」(15.85%). Therefore, for effectively improving schedule performance of water recycling project, it is recommended to prioritize the increasement of field investigation and the strengthening of project auditing in construction progress schedule.
