With the rapid changes and increasing pressures in modern work environments, workplace flexibility and positive psychological detachment have gradually become important factors affecting employees' workplace well-being. Workplace flexibility refers to the flexibility and satisfaction of employees in flexible work arrangements and working methods, while positive psychological detachment refers to the ability of employees to completely relax outside of work and temporarily detach from work stress. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between workplace flexibility, positive psychological detachment, and workplace well-being.
This study used a questionnaire survey method, targeting employees from various industries using convenience sampling. The survey was conducted via a Google online questionnaire, with 283 questionnaires collected. SPSS 22 was used for exploratory factor analysis. The results of the study found that workplace flexibility and positive psychological detachment have a significant positive impact on employees' workplace well-being. Employees' workplace well-being significantly improves when they have greater flexibility in work arrangements. At the same time, positive psychological detachment mediates the relationship between workplace flexibility and workplace well-being, meaning that the positive impact of workplace flexibility on workplace well-being is more evident when employees can effectively achieve positive psychological detachment.
The results of this study indicate that companies should pay attention to employees' workplace flexibility and mental health, providing more flexible work arrangements and support systems to enhance employees' workplace well-being. This, in turn, can help retain excellent employees, improve work performance, and enhance corporate competitiveness. Future research could further explore other factors affecting workplace well-being and investigate related variables in different cultural contexts.
Keywords: workplace flexibility, positive psychological detachment, workplace well-being, work stress.
