The expression of creation is related to personal experience. It is a pathway to self-understanding and also a reinterpretation of self-emotions. However, overly emotional works can easily become tools for personal-emotion venting, while works lacking emotion could just be an empty shell loses its soul. The author hopes to achieve a balance between main themes and emotions, neither exaggerating emotional venting, nor neglecting the expression of sensitivity to the surroundings, through color blocks, textures, lines, and brushstrokes. "Between Lightness and Weight" discusses author's creative works from 2014 to the present. It mainly focuses on the experiences during the creative process over the past five years, and how lightness and weight influence the author's thoughts and creations from the perspective of literature, art, and psychology, and how they are transformed in the works. The transformation process encompasses three aspects: 1. Lightness and weight within the imagery. 2. Converting the weight of emotions into arrangements in the form of painting. 3. Sensitivity to the weight of life. Breaking the dichotomous logical framework, it is a process that implies fluidity and uncertainty. It aims to provide a path between lightness and weight, no longer confined to two extremes. At the same time, it reveals the trajectory of creation process to the viewers. This thesis is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1, Introduction, explains the motivation and background, purpose, method, and content of the creation. Chapter 2, Between Lightness and Weight: Literature Review, explores the lightness and weight in literature, art, and psychology and their relationship with creation. Chapter 3, Scenery Passing By: Creative practice, outlines the deconstruction of people, things, and scenery that influence the author during the creative process and how to transform them into works. Chapter 4, Immersed in the Depths of Painting: Analysis of personal creations, including analysis of creative concepts, exhibition analysis, the structure and color analysis of works, and the use of materials. Chapter 5, Conclusion, Reflections and prospects. Each painting reflects the process of creative experience, it also contains the author's thoughts and responses to painting materials and self-emotions. Through the combination of images it completes the assignment of meaning, presenting the result of internal deepening, and also completing one's self. Lastly, it reexamines author's thoughts on creation and the position in it.
