This study applies the MaxDiff method to explore the factors influencing individuals' preferences for self-paid health check-up services, using a health management center at a specific hospital as a case study. The aim is to systematically analyze the key factors affecting the choice of health check-up services and to identify and evaluate the key factors influencing individuals' preferences for self-paid health check-up services. Additionally, the study analyzes the differences in preferences among different groups.
The research methods include a literature review and a questionnaire survey. Data were processed using the MaxDiff method to determine the importance of various service features. The results show that when choosing self-paid health check-up services, individuals place the highest importance on multidisciplinary specialist consultations and explanations, the provision of follow-up medical services, and personalized health management recommendations. In contrast, the comfort of the check-up environment, the cost of the check-up, and the immediacy of online customer service are less valued.
Further analysis reveals differences in preferences for check-up services among respondents with different health conditions and check-up frequencies. Respondents with poorer health and those who undergo frequent self-paid check-ups place more importance on professional medical services and follow-up health management, while those with better health and infrequent self-paid check-ups focus more on the convenience and cost of the check-ups. Additionally, factors such as age, gender, and marital status significantly influence individuals' preferences. Younger individuals prioritize the efficiency and convenience of the check-up process, while older individuals are more concerned with health management recommendations post-check-up. Female participants have higher demands for the comfort, familiarity, and privacy of the check-up location, while male participants value efficiency and convenience more. Married individuals place more importance on post-check-up medical services and health management recommendations compared to unmarried individuals.
Based on the findings, this study offers the following recommendations: hospitals should optimize specialist consultation and report explanation services, and strengthen the provision of follow-up medical services and personalized health management recommendations. Additionally, differentiated service strategies should be developed for groups with different health conditions and check-up frequencies to enhance service satisfaction and attractiveness.
The results of this study can provide empirical evidence for health management centers to optimize service content and develop more targeted marketing strategies, thereby enhancing the attractiveness and satisfaction of self-paid health check-up services. The study also highlights some limitations in data collection and analysis and suggests that future research should include larger samples and longer-term follow-up surveys to further validate and expand the findings. Through this research, it is hoped that health management centers can better understand customer needs, improve the quality and satisfaction of health check-up services, and ultimately enhance the overall health levels of the population.
