In recent years, the film, gaming, VR, AR, and virtual streamer (VTuber) industries have flourished. These industries often involve the use of character motion animation, special CG production, and various visual effects. Many of these animations and effects rely on motion capture technology. However, different motion capture devices have different requirements in terms of space, cost, and ease of use. This makes it challenging for students, enthusiasts, and professionals in the film industry who wish to create animations on their own. Therefore, in this study, we examined various types of motion capture technologies and selected a wearable (inertial) motion capture technology that is more portable and user-friendly. We developed a set of motion capture equipment that is quick to set up and more affordable to use.
