This research develops an augmented reality serious game, Treasure Hunt, to enhance art museum visiter experience. The goal is to engaging visitors to the exhibition content. Treasure Hunt is a mobile application designed to run on smart devices, allowing visitors to enjoy the game while exploring the art museum. Based on virtual treasure searching clues, a participant installs the app into his smart phone, acting as an explorer to search for artworks within the art museum. The proposed serious game allows users to pay attention to the exhibitions. As a result, participants gain a better understanding of the stories behind the artworks. A user study is conducted to collect user feedbacks from participants. Eighty one percetage of the participants acknowledge that using Treasure Hunt could enhance the museum visiting experience.
