The outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 brought unprecedented challenges to the performing arts field. During the epidemic, dance workers in Taiwan were forced to rearrange their working methods and creative models. The goal of this study is to explore the career development of Taiwanese dance workers in the post- pandemic era, and to understand their plans, expectations and needs for the future through interviews. This study used a semi-structured qualitative interview method to conduct interviews with ten Taiwanese dance workers. The timeline was divided into three periods: "Before the epidemic," "During the epidemic," and "Post-pandemic era," with focus on the two time points of "the emergence of the epidemic" and "the gradual slowdown of the epidemic." Combined with the six aspects of "teaching," "learning," "performance," "choreography," "finance," and "others," an analysis structure was generated. The interview content was analyzed and organized according to this structure. The study found that Taiwanese dance workers in the "Post- pandemic era" rely on "swinging back and forth" between the dance field and other fields to find a balance between their passion and job. The experience during the epidemic has accelerating their determination to take action. Most Taiwanese dance workers show little confidence in their future career development, and "finance" is an important factor that affects whether they will continue to pursue careers in dance.
