在設計初期階段的概念發想,不能單純視為解決問題的過程,而是一個探索的過程(Chang, 2004)。在設計初期階段,設計者常常憑藉著拼貼的輔助與視覺上的操作來做設計,這種操作和探索設計拼貼系統的實體介面操作有極大之相似性。Schön and Wiggins提出「看動看」的模式像設計迷思或設計拼貼一樣,具有反覆性的探索概念,可以用來解釋設計者探索設計拼貼的操作行為。本研究主要是運用心智圖法建立設計的知識結構,並且建置探索設計拼貼系統,以進行研究設計師在使用多點觸控之實體互動介面之下,如何從事設計拼貼探索的行為,同時探討其產生的結果及影響。本研究結合硬體與軟體開發系統,並且透過此系統藉由設計師的操作來回答本研究想了解的問題。在先期研究裡本研究探索系統的實作方式,並且嘗試進行實作雛型,以引導本研究分析出使用者多點觸控的圖片操作規則,以做為設計拼貼探索的機制,然後再進行本系統的實作。本研究觀察使用者操作測試的情形,同時使用訪談法加以輔助,最後得到本論文的研究結果,並做出實作檢討。
  以「看動看」的模式來進行觀察使用者實體互動介面操作的情形,是一種很好的方式。透過使用者問卷訪談能夠得知,本系統具有許多的特點,多點觸控介面也有許多幫助,而且本系統能夠輔助設計師進行設計創意啟發,以產生新的設計想法或概念。從問卷訪談的內容,還可以得知介面或系統上需要新增或改善的地方,本研究也了解使用者操作本系統的感想,這些研究結果都能夠為本論文定下結論,且引導出更多未來發展的方向。
In a design initiation, concept-developing phase is not only simply regarded as problem-solving process but also exploring process (Chang, 2004). Designer often goes designing through the collaged assistants and visual manipulations in design initiation, and the manipulations are very similar to physical interface manipulations in this Exploring Design Collage System (EDOS). Schön and Wiggins (1992) propose “seeing-moving-seeing” model, is like Design Puzzle or Design Collage which possesses the iterative exploration concepts, and it can explain the designer’s manipulative behaviors in the exploring design collage. This research mainly applies mind mapping to construct the design knowledge structures, and establishes the EDOS to study designers how to go into design collage exploratory behaviors under using a physical interactive interface with multi-touch, and at the same time this research probes into these bringing results and affections.
This research integrates hardware with software to develop this system, and answers these questions this study wants to understand through the designers’ manipulations in this system. In the pilot studies this research explores the methods of system implementation to try to implement the prototypes, and guiding this research analyses these image manipulation rules of Multi-Touch for users to form the exploration mechanism of design collage, and then go to implement the system. This study observes the user manipulation tests and interviews these users to obtain the results. Finally this study proposes some implementation discussions, and summarizes the conclusions, contributions, and future works for this thesis.
