This study is based on the path-goal theory, and takes social-oriented achievement motivation (SOAM) and individual-oriented achievement motivation (IOAM) as moders to discuss the associations of leadership and service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior (SOCB). Based on the questionnaires collected from managers and employees, This study obtained 232 validly dyadic samples from service industry, and the response rate is 77.33%. The results indicates that transactional leadership (TSL) and transformational leadership (TFL) both have significantly positive effects on SOCB; SOAM and IOAM both significantly moderate the relationship of leadership and SOCB. Based on the result, some implications and suggestions for the academic fields and practical managers are offered for future research.
