In the current environment change so fast, companies seek long-term survival, they tend to inevitably have to increase or enhance their competitive advantage. The employees is the main source of competitive advantage for business.
Then, the knowledge embedness within key employees is the valuable resource for enterprise. The key employees, including the management teams, and technical personnels... and so on. In particular R & D staff, their knowledge can help companies develop new products or new technology, subsequently help companies to increase their competitiveness, so the staff continued to innovate, that is, organizations can maintain a source of competitive advantage.
The interactive relationship between people is a kind of social network. The exchange and share knowledge among employees, are built on interpersonal relationships, then it will affect the relationships among employees to exchange and share knowledge. Therefore, this study is to investigate:
How the characteristics of social networks influence the four knowledge conversion models of the team members. Furthermore, how four knowledge conversion models of the team members influence the innovative performance. Finally, whether the characteristics of social networks can influence the innovation performance through knowledge conversion model.
In this study, the subject is the R & D project team, A questionnaire survey was conducted, and 51 valide team data were collected. Regression analysis examined the hypothesese the results are as follows:
1. Betweenness centrality in the friendship networks have negative relationship with the formalization degree of the R & D team members.
2. Density in communication networks have positive effects on the internalization degree of the R & D of the team members.
3. The socialization degree of the R & D team members have positive effects on the product innovation.
