In Taiwan, after-school tuition is just like the all people activities, has a tremendous market. This research is based on the first wave and the second wave country middle-school students and guardian's sample material extract from Taiwan Education Panel Survey. Through the study to realize the present situation of after-school tuition for junior high school students and get understanding of the factor to influence the decision making of after-school tuition participation and the impact of academic achievement. After reorganizing, there are total 12,833 effective samples available. According to the different research purpose, the study adopted Chi-square test, one-way ANOVA and decision tree carry on the analysis. Conclusions are brought upon as follows: a)55.2% of the nine grade junior high school student participant after-school tuition or individual family education. b)The most important factor to influence the participation of after-school tuition is the students’ self-expectation. c)The most important factor to influence the academic achievement is also the students’ self-expectation. d)The more hours spending in after-school tuition presents the higher academic achievement. But the academic achievement curve would start to decrease while spending time over 12 hours in after-school tuition per week especially.
