The study examined the relationships among optimism, sex role and job performance, and examined if sex role would moderate the relationship between optimism and job performance. By convenience sampling, data were collected from 254 teachers in junior and senior high schools. The results were as following:
1. Optimism had a significant effect on job performance.
2. Feminine had a significant effect on job performance.
3. Feminine had a moderating effect on the relationship between optimism and job performance. When employees had low feminine, the positive effect of optimism on performance was more significant than those had high feminine.
According to the results of the study, the researcher made some theoretical and practical suggestions.
