大規模開放式線上課程 (MOOCs/磨課師),是最近盛行的線上數位學習,MOOCs將學習的自主權與學習的時間節奏交還給學生,學生能夠安排自己想要學習的課程和時間,可以有更多和更方便的學習機會。然而我們發現MOOCs平台還有許多不足的地方,像是同儕與師生之間的互動、學習評估系統的不明確、學習回饋機制等問題。另一方面,隨著智慧型手機的普及化,行動學習的議題近年來也越來越重要,本來MOOCs只能透過網站來進行線上學習,現在也可以利用手機來進行行動學習,使用者不限定待在家中或室內才能夠上網修課,只要透過智慧型手機APP就能夠隨時隨地的學習。
所以我們在現有的MOOCs學習平台上,結合行動裝置APP發展互動與輔助學習的功能,以及針對系統缺乏的回饋功能開發額外的分析系統,並將結果透過行動裝置APP的整合提供老師與學生所需要的服務,希望透過系統回饋機制作改善和提供更好的延伸功能與服務。
本研究以edX學習平台為基礎建構學習小幫手系統,透過edX平台提供教學環境並且收集學生的學習記錄,處理並分析學習記錄來取得學習行為,分析後的學習行為能夠提供系統來決定如何輔助學生學習,而學生可以透過行動裝置來得知學習狀況並改善學習成效。
Massive open online courses (MOOCs) recently become prevalent E-learning. MOOCs return the autonomy of learning to students. Students can arrange courses and learning time they want to learn. Therefore, they can learn more as an autonomous learner. On the other hand, with the popularity of smartphones the MOOCs learning mode can be changed from using the Web for learning to using the phone for mobile learning. M-Learning is an increasingly important issue in recent years, where users will not need to stay at home to learn. Using the APP on a smartphone one can learn anytime, anywhere. However, we found MOOCs platform has many deficiencies, such as the lack of interaction between peers, unclear learning evaluation, and inadequate learning feedback mechanisms.
We integrate APP on mobile devices and MOOCs learning platform with the addition of peer interaction and learning assisted functions. Using the existing MOOCs learning platform as the basis, we provide additional analysis for the above mentioned problems. With mobile APPs tour system integrate the interaction functionality of teachers and students, as well as the feedback mechanism to provide better services and extended functions.
In this research, we construct a learning assistant system based on the edX learning platform. To provide additional teaching and learning services through the edX platform and mobile phones, we collect students academic records, process and analyze related data to obtain students’ learning behavior and their performance. The result of learning behavior analysis and learning reminder can help the system and teachers determine when and how to assist students. Students can get progress reports from our system and improve their academic performance accordingly.
