Over recent years, there have been a number of OpenCourseWare, and students can arrange to study these courses at will. On the other hand, many schools take the Flipped classroom, that is, students need to study by themselves first and then discuss the problems with teachers. Though both of them takes online film as course materials, they have different results, which is worth discussing. Hence, from the points of thinking style and intention, the paper explores the actions of learners’ eyes with different goal to understand the learning behavior of students in the situation of watching at will and under pressure, with the help of eye tracker. The study recruited 23 undergraduates from College of Computing and Informatics in Taichong.
The results of the experiment are as follows: (1) as for those who target at independent learning, dwell time and fixation count were no difference in watching film and reading texts; (2) as for those who target at regulation, they have the highest total dwell time and fixation count in both watching film and reading texts; (3) in the film, there is no obvious difference in the dwell time and fixation count between those target at independent learning and those target at regulation; as for the text under target of independent learning and regulation, those target at regulation has higher dwell time and fixation count than who target at independent learning; (4) The global style or local style learners’ dwell time and fixation count were no difference in watching film and reading texts.
