背景:國內研究有關醫院照顧服務員(醫院照服員)對傳染病相關認知、態度與行為較少論述。本研究探討醫院照服員新冠肺炎知識、態度、預防行為現況與影響因素。
方法:採橫斷式研究設計,研究對象為長庚醫院(嘉義、高雄)之醫院照服員,以問卷調查收集研究對象新冠肺炎知識、態度、預防行為、健康信念(健康控握)及行動線索資料,收案總人數為155人(醫院聘任82人、家屬自聘73人)。以描述性統計(平均值、標準差、百分比)、推論統計(獨立樣本t檢定、單因子變異數分析及卡方檢定)、皮爾森積差相關分析與多元線性迴歸進行資料分析。
結果:醫院聘任及家屬自聘照服員新冠肺炎知識、態度、預防行為、健康信念及健康控握無統計顯著差異。醫院聘任及家屬自聘照服員態度與預防行為、態度與健康信念、健康信念與預防行為皆呈中度正相關;知識與態度、知識與預防行為、態度與健康控握則皆無相關。家屬自聘照服員健康信念與健康控握呈中度正相關,醫院聘任則是低度正相關。工作年資可能影響醫院聘任照顧服務員知識,教育程度、居住地可能分別影響家屬自聘照服員態度及預防行為。
結論:人口學特性(工作年資、教育程度、居住地)可能影響醫院照服員新冠肺炎知識、態度、預防行為,進一步影響其健康信念與健康控握。為提升病人安全與降低醫院感染風險,建議醫院或家屬聘任照服員時應考慮相關人口學特性。
Background: In Taiwan, there are few studies on the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of infectious diseases among hospital nursing attendants. This study investigated the status and effective factors on the knowledge, attitudes and prevention behaviors of Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) among hospital nursing attendants.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, using the questionnaire and interview to collect data on the knowledge, attitudes, prevention behaviors, health beliefs (health locus of control) and cues to action of COVID-19 in Chang Gung Menorial Hospital (Chiayi and Kaohsiung). A total of 155 (82 hospital-employed and 73 family-employed) hospital nursing attendants participated in this study. The descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation and percentage) and inferential statistics including independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, chi-square test), Pearson’s correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression model were applied to analyze the data.
Results: There were no significant differences in the knowledge, attitudes, prevention behaviors and health beliefs of COVID-19 between hospital and family-emplyed hospital nursing attendants. There was moderate positive correlation between attitude and prevention behaviors, attitude and health beliefs, health beliefs and prevention behaviors. However, ther was no correlation between knowledge and attitudes, knowledge and revention behaviors, attitudes and health locus of control. There was moderate and low positive correlation between health beliefs and health locus of control in family-employed and hospital-employed attendants, respectively. Duration of work experience could effect knowledge in hospital-employed attendants; morevier, education level and residence area could effect attitudes and prevention behaviors in familt-employed attendants, respectively.
Conclusion: Demographic characteristics (working experience, education level, and residence area) could effect hospital nursing attendants’ knowledge, attitude, and preventive behaviors of COVID-19, which may further affect their health beliefs and locus of control. In order to improve patient safety and reduce risks of hospital-acquired infections, it is recommended that appointment of hospital nursing attendants should consider their demographic characteristic.
