工具機為機械產業中最基本的加工機械，主軸又為工具機最關鍵之組件，對於精度的要求非常嚴苛，也因此主軸零組件尺寸與幾何公差之設定常成為各家廠商的重要技術，同時主軸零組件加工製程又與公差控制及製程成本相關，故主軸零組件公差設定與調整是一個值得深入探討的課題。本研究即針對CNC加工中心主軸BT-50之公差設定與調整策略進行探討，將主軸公差分析與公差調整結合，依據主軸設計之精度需求，當改變或維持產品精度設定時，可適當地調整公差規格且能控制製程成本，以發展公差調整策略與方法。
本研究針對BT-50主軸實際以公差分析法分析其精度變異範圍，進一步分析其生產製造成本，建構其製程公差之成本模式，做為公差調整之依據，同時根據精度變異需求與生產製造成本發展一公差調整策略，內容包括下列三種策略：(A)提高精度要求，降低產品精度變異範圍，製程成本增加最少；(B)維持原有精度要求，調整公差以使製程成本降低最多；以及(C)放寬精度要求，適度提高產品精度變異範圍，以使製程成本降低最多。研究以BT-50主軸為例，進行上述三種調整策略，以探討各種不同策略的應用。其結果顯示(A)將該主軸精度變異量減少為原來的70%，每組製程成本僅增加2%；(B)若維持原精度變異量，經調整後每組製程成本可減少18.2%；(C)若更進一步放寬精度，將精度變異量放寬3.6%，則每組製程成本可進一步降低19.3%。顯示本文所提出之公差調整策略可有效應用於主軸之公差設計與調整。

Machine tool is the most fundamental machining equipment in machinery industry. The spindle is the most critical module of a machine tool and has strict requirement on precision. As a result, the geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) of the components of the spindle are crucial technology to the manufacturer. The manufacture process of the spindle components are deeply related to the tolerance control and production cost. Therefore, tolerance setting and adjustment for components of spindle is an important issue to be investigated. This paper investigates the strategy for tolerance adjustment of a BT-50 spindle for CNC machining centers. The strategy combines the tolerance analysis with its adjustment, according to the requirement of the spindle precision. It adjusts the tolerance specifications with the production cost considered when the spindle precision changes.
This research is to develop a tolerance adjusting strategy according to the precision variance requirements and production costs. We first analyzes the variation of precision by tolerance analysis on the BT-50 spindle. The production costs are then investigated to construct the cost models of production tolerances as a reference for tolerance adjustment. The tolerance adjusting strategy is then developed. It includes the following 3 methods. (A) Decreasing the precision variation while keeping low production cost. (B) Keeping the same precision variation but reducing production cost. (C) Increasing the precision variation with maximum reduction of production. The result of tolerance adjustment on the BT-50 spindle shows that (A) the production cost only increases 2% when the spindle precision variation decrease 70%; (B) The production cost can decrease 18.2% while keeping the original precision variance; (C) The production cost can reduce 19.3% if the precision variance decreases 3.6%. It shows that the tolerance adjusting strategy can be effectively applied to the tolerance design and adjustment of the spindle.
