ABSTRACTOwing to the advantages of stabilization, resource recovery and volume reduction, incineration technology is more suitable for the congested areas, such as Taiwan. However, the ash produced by the incineration of municipal solid wastes contains significant amounts of heavy metals. Trace toxic metals may escape from the incineration process in flue gas, in dry collected ash, in wet scrubbed ash, or as an airborne aerosol. So it is important and necessary to understand the behavior of trace heavy metals in thPrevious theoretical study indicated that the control conditions of water cooling system and spray dryer system under incineration processes have significant effect on the formation of heavy metal compounds. The formation of chromium (Cr), lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) species under various control conditions water cooling tower and spray dryer reactor were investigated at present test.
