This study was the research for the vocabulary of Test of Practical Japanese. The vocabulary is a very important part in language learning. The quantity of vocabulary leads to power of expression, comprehension, speaking ability, hearing and listening ability very deeply. Particularly, the vocabulary is known when I take an examination when it is a factor to affect ability for reading and understanding directly. Because the Test of Practical Japanese doesn’t have the clear questions range, it is not easy to grasp the examination for the examinee. That is why, through this study, I aim at deepening understanding to J.TEST practical use Japanese official approval still more. In addition, I am happy if I can help the examinee with the intention to take an examination even a little. This study investigates 2009, 2010, 2011 vocabulary of the level A-D in the J.TEST. At first, I contraposition to the vocabulary list of 『日本語能力試験出題基準【改訂版】』, and classify vocabulary of J.TEST at a level. In addition, with 『デイリーコンサイス漢和辞典』,I separate the classification of Japanese words. And I classify part of speech distinction of the vocabulary in『スーパー大辞林』and create vocabulary lists of the J.TEST.Finally I extract high-frequency vocabulary form the vocabulary list.And I’ll try to separate high-frequency vocabulary with 『分類語彙表-増補改訂版』. The count results seem to be as follows. As for 5,868 total number of different words, in total number of words used, 23,781 words were provided. As for the count result of the level, the ratio is the highest in the second grade, the fourth grade vocabulary. In addition, Japanese language was used most and 50% was near and occupied the count result of the word class. The next is a Chinese word, the ratio of 40%. The first place is a noun, and the count result of the part of speech accounts for 60% of the whole. The second place is a verb, and the ratio is 20%.
