With the continuous development and improvement of the modern financial industry, more and more financial products appear in people's field of vision. For consumers, the choice of what kind of financial products to invest is the primary consideration of consumers. This paper mainly discusses the preference of consumers to invest in financial products, to explore its understanding and choice of financial products, and make recommendations. This study conducted the questionnaire survey and regained 387 valid questionnaires. The result finds out Institutional factors is the most important factors for consumers that influence consumer choice of financial product investment, then is personal factor. This result also shows that there are significant differences in the choice of financial products among consumers due to age, gender, and region, the importance of financial products and the preference for financial products. This result suggests that financial industry issues financial products, it should consider distinct requisitions, provide different financial products for the needs of all groups, improve the sense of innovation of financial products, and introduce more in line with consumer demand for financial products.
