本文旨在利用時間序列的分析方法來探討老鼠行走之動態行為，首先在實驗方面與一般動物行為實驗有所不同的是，實驗的進行以強調老鼠的自由意志為主，不以誘餌來驅使老鼠從事操控者所想觀察到的行為。另外在本文中將老鼠行走視為一維的隨機行走，利用碎形布朗運動的模式來分析與探討老鼠於同一次行走時所產生的行為規律，而接著利用線性關聯性以及平均相互關聯訊息理論，來探討老鼠行走在不同次之間關聯性的強弱。最後藉由這些時間序列的分析方法所得到的結果去尋求行為學上的解釋，其最終的目的無非是希望以時間序列分析理論為基礎並結合動物行為學上已知的一些現象，以建立一套數學模式來描述或近似生物體的行為。

In this thesis, time series theory is applied to study the behavior of the mouse. By treating mouse’s walk as one
dimensional random walk, fractional Brownian motion can be
used to analyze the pattern of the mouse’s walk. linear and
nonlinear correlation theory are also used to study the relation between the different times of walk. A long_term correlation typically exhibited in many naturally occurring fluctuating phenomena is observed. The present time series analysis might be useful in establishing a mathematical model which can satisfactorily describe the diverse behavior displayed by certain physiological system.
