Abstract This dissertation is mainly study the progress and evolves of original creation; the author adopts several techniques of printmaking such as the character of plate type, specific of plate material, indirect process and printing, attempts to present a representation what is different from the traditional plane drawing quality. During the process of creation, the writer speculates and practices about the modeling possibility that develops from various types of plates. The primary task is to identify the relationship and diversity between the painterly of printmaking and the painterly of drawing, afterward, to use the specific material attribute of printmaking as the main element, and then turn something into an effective printmaking syntax what are brought out from the process of creation such as instinctive drawing element and visual vocabulary, and the indirect drawing quality which is produced by plate making and printing. Within the practicing, here also makes a further probe into the intrinsic diversity of printmaking and printing, for instance, physical labor that brought out through print by hand- operating, the inevitability and necessity during the process of printing, and the appearing aesthetics characteristic through operates repeatedly. Texture researching comes from the marks of carving, the depth quality of overlapping ink and the remaining heave of impression. The base material also plays a significant role, it affects the permeability, covering and color rendering index of the inks. To adopts the effects of chrominance, values, opacity and color rendering, constituting a disposition of distinct proportion on the picture, besides, adding penetrative base material to form a spatial layer effect on the sense of sight. Finally, to study the expansion and the extension of printmaking concept, to permeate plane printmaking into the three-dimensional space, constructing printmaking sites by using spatial dimensions, so that result in inter- infiltration between printmaking and existing sites, and researching the simultaneously coexist of substance and concept, it develops a spatial duplication, making “duplication” and “reproduce” rotate in the heterogeneous space. It also becomes a possible discussion of printmaking modeling of using the other media such as a typewriter and mixed media.
