本研究旨在探討E.B.懷特的小說《夏綠蒂的網》Charlotte’s Web
的兩種中譯本比較。筆者選擇台灣譯本和大陸譯本做比較，目的是為
了研究兩岸不同翻譯者間的翻譯差異並讓更多讀者認識兒童文學的
翻譯作品及其翻譯方法。本研究共分五個章節，第一章主要涵蓋研究
動機與目的以及研究方法。筆者使用直譯與意譯的翻譯策略以及歸化
與異化的翻譯理論來探討不同中譯本間的翻譯差異。第二章則簡介本
書及本書作者E.B.懷特的相關生帄與其他作品。第三章討論直譯與意
譯，以及歸化與異化是如何被運用在這兩個中譯本。第四章則是討論
對這兩個中譯本間不同的翻譯技巧與問題。第五章是結論。筆者發現
兩位譯者皆在譯文中使用不同翻譯策略或理論。台灣譯者偏好使用意
譯與歸化，而大陸譯者則偏好使用直譯與異化。台灣譯者的翻譯文較
長，而大陸譯者的翻譯文則較簡短。筆者期待本論文能協助更多人認
識E.B.懷特及其作品，以及對不同的翻譯理論與策略有更進一步的認
識。

The aim of this thesis is to compare the differences between two
Chinese translations of E.B. White’s novel Charlotte’s Web: Kang Xin’s
translation and Liu Yi Hui’s. For the purpose of studying the differences
between these two translations and introducing more readers to translated
works of children literature and translation methods, the author chooses
two Chinese translations, one from Taiwan and one from China, to be
compared. This thesis is divided into 5 chapters. Chapter 1 tells the
author’s motive, purpose and research method. The author uses
translation strategies and theories such as literal translation, free
translation, domestication, and foreignization to discuss these two
Chinese translations. Chapter 2 introduces the contents of Charlotte’s Web and its author E.B. White and his other works. Chapter 3 explains how
domestication and foreignization theories are applied to the two Chinese
translations. Chapter 4 discusses the translation skills and problems found in these two Chinese translations. Chapter 5 is the conclusion, in which the author finds that different translation strategies and theories are used
by the two translators. The translator from Taiwan prefers to use free
translation and domestication methods, while the translator from China
prefers to use more literal translation and foreignization instead. The texts of the translator from Taiwan are usually longer than the ones of the translator from China. The author hopes that this thesis can enable more people to have better understanding of E.B. White and his works as well as different English-to-Chinese translation theories and strategies.
