本研究旨在瞭解訊息內容對精神病患的描述與對精神病人烙印程度之關係，本研究以台大學生為研究對象，採自填問卷的方式收集資料，研究中的訊息內容是以短文（vignette）描述的方式呈現，共有四種短文內容：「疾病標籤」、「疾病標籤/威脅性疾病行為」、「疾病標籤/威脅性疾病行為/復健與治療」、「疾病標籤/退縮性疾病行為/復健與治療」。本研究主要目的在探討訊息內容對精神病人不同的描述，是否影響個人對精神病人的烙印程度；訊息內容的性質與個人對精神病人烙印程度之關係；個人基本特質與個人對精神病人態度之關係。
結果發現：（1）個人基本特質中，「年齡」、「是否曾經修習相關課程」會影響對精神病人的態度；（2）訊息內容的不同，會影響個人對精神病人的烙印程度；（3）訊息內容描述精神病人的疾病行為（威脅性或退縮性疾病行為），會增加個人對精神病人在性格以及技能上的烙印程度；（4）訊息內容描述精神病人有具威脅性的疾病行為，除了增加個人對精神病人在性格以及技能上的烙印程度，也會增加個人與精神病人的社會距離，且與精神病人相處時有較多負面的情緒反應；（5）訊息內容描述精神病人目前接受醫療機構的復健與治療，會減少個人與精神病人相處時的負面情緒反應。
本研究根據研究結果對未來研究者及相關單位提出建議。

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the description of mental disorder patients in vignette and the stigma of mental disorder patients. Samples were collected from National Taiwan University students by self-report method. In this study, four types of vignettes were investigated：(1) label, (2) label/threaten behavior, (3) label/threaten behavior/rehabilitation and treatment ,and (4) label/withdrawal behavior/rehabilitation and treatment.
The major findings are：(1) Two personal attributes, ”age” and “whether majoring related course”, are important factors in affecting attitudes toward mental disorder patients. (2) Different descriptions in vignettes can influence the stigma’s degree in mental disorder patients. (3) The descriptions having illness behavior in vignettes can increase the stigma''s degree in not only patients’ characters but also their abilities. (4) The threaten illness behavior descriptions don''t only increase the stigma''s degree in patients’characters and abilities. It also accrues the social distance between patients and non-patients as well as negative emotional reactions when interacting with mental disorder patients. (5) Descriptions regarding patients'' treatment and rehabilitation in vignettes can reduce the negative emotional reactions when non-patients interact with mental disorder patients.
Recommendations for future studies as well as suggestions directed to apporiate government agencies are also included in this study.
