There are totally six chapters in this thesis. Summary-The authority of Taipei government has enforcedly abolished the licensed-prostitute policy since 1997, resulted in the licensed prostitutes and supports to struggle for the prostitutes’ sex and work rights. Both of Taiwan and Japan is patriarchy. Also, Japanese culture generates a profoundly deep and far effect on Taiwanese culture. Furthermore, Japanese government has regulated “The Anti-prostitution Law” in 1956 to repeal the “Licensed Quarters” from the ancient periods and “state-regulated prostitution“ established from Edo era. Chapter Two-Emphasis upon The Japanese Prostitute History on the findings of some lasting key point of the thoughts, customs and culture from the inside of this history and the background of the enacted on “The Anti-prostitution Law”. Chapter Three-Analysis of the exiting prostitution factors influenced from the social environment, including the conscious of prostitution, free sex work, the multiplicity of porno culture and sex as merchandise. Chapter Four-In relation to the exiting patterns of prostitution, probing into why the prostitution still keeps on. Chapter Five-Pointing to central and local government and non-government circles on strategies of the anti-prostitution. Conclusion-From the statements on the aforementioned chapters, we can realize that the characters of Japanese prostitution problems are popular, diversified and fast-changing. The policies could be the model of Taiwan’s anti-prostitution policies.
