本研究以較適應南台灣高溫、高濕氣候之齒葉、甜蜜、羽葉、阿拉第等四種薰衣草品種為材料,以遮陰與露天盆栽的方式栽培,於生長期間調查其植株高度、花期、花穗數、花穗長度等生理特性的變化,並以L-N水蒸氣蒸餾萃取方法萃取甜蜜及齒葉薰衣草二品種之精油,乙醚及正戊烷為萃取溶劑,比較遮陰與露天栽培之精油含量及主成份的差異,並比較齒葉、甜蜜、羽葉、阿拉第等薰衣草遮陰與露天栽培之清除DPPH自由基的效率。研究結果顯示遮陰栽培植株有明顯的徒長現象,株高明顯高於露天栽培的植株,且花期較短、花色較淡、花穗數少、精油含量較少(齒葉薰衣草例外)、抗氧化性較差。分析齒葉與甜蜜薰衣草精油成份發現,齒葉薰衣草精油主要成份為1.8-Cineole及β-Pinene,遮陰與露天栽培之平均含量分別為53.8﹪、7.36﹪及 45.02﹪、7.79﹪,而甜蜜薰衣草精油主要成份為1.8-Cineole及Linalool,遮陰與露天栽培之平均含量分別為47.95﹪、6.96﹪及54.91﹪、9.47﹪。齒葉與甜蜜薰衣草花穗精油含量均較葉片高。齒葉薰衣草清除DPPH自由基的效率最高,尤其是露天栽培之齒葉薰衣草,三種乙醇萃取液濃度清除DPPH自由基的效率均高達98﹪以上,遮陰栽培也有74﹪以上。

The contents of abstract in this thesis:
This study selected four lavandula species, which adapted well under the high temperature and high humidity conditions in southern Taiwan, as test plants. These four species, including L. dentata, L. heterophylla, L. pinnata, and L. allardii Rly, were planted in pots and placed outdoor with and without shade. During the growth of the test plants, variations of their respective physiological characteristics, such as plant height, flowering period, and number and height of inflorescence, were investigated. Essential oils from L. dentata and L. heterophylla were extracted by using Linkens-Nickerson steam distillation methods with ethyl ether and n-pentane as solvents. The variations in the contents of the essential oils and their major components of L. dentata and L. heterophylla, planted outdoor with and without shade, were compared. Also compared was the efficiency in scavenging DPPH free radicals from L. dentata, L. heterophylla, L. pinnata, and L. allardii Rly, which were planted outdoor with and without shade. Results of the study showed that an elongation was observed in the test plants grown under the shaded conditions, resulting in their plant height significantly higher than those grown in outdoor without shade. The results also showed that the test plants grown under the shaded conditions had a shorter flowering period, lighter in the flower color, less spikes and essential oil contents (except for L. dentata), and less effective in scavenging DPPH free radicals. Analyses of the essential oil contents of L. dentata and L. heterophylla showed that 1.8-Cineole and β-Pinene were the major components of L. dentata. Their respective average contents were 53.8 and 7.36﹪when planted outdoor with shade and 45.02 and 7.79﹪when planted outdoor without shade. The major components of L. heterophylla were 1.8-Cineole and Linalool. Their respective average contents were 47.95 and 6.96﹪when planted outdoor with shade and 54.91 and 9.47﹪when planted outdoor without shade. The essential oil contents of L. dentata and L. heterophylla were found higher in spikes than in leaves. The efficiency of scavenging DPPH free radicals was highest in L. dentata. Over 98% efficiency in DPPH free radical scavenging was found in the essential oils extracted from L. dentata, especially those grown outdoor without shade, by using ethanol at 0.02, 0.04 and 0.06mg/ml. Over 74% efficiency was also found in L. dentata grown under shaded conditions.
