台灣之企業約百分之九十七為中小企業,而其中又大多數為家族企業,台灣的經濟奇蹟,中小型家族企業貢獻極大,但家族企業卻較難以永續經營。台灣家族企業的經營策略形成模式或許將決定其企業之生命週期。
在過去二十年來,有相當多關於策略規劃的研究與爭論,但並沒有跡象顯示出有一致的共識,沒有明顯的證據顯示以規劃來形成策略是適當的,但也沒有明顯的證據顯示其是不適當的。以策略形成為主之文獻並不多見,且大多以大企業為主,但盲目的將大公司規劃的模式套用到小公司是不適當的。僅因此,即提供了足夠的研究動機,台灣中小型家族企業是如何形成其經營策略?
本研究屬初步之探索性研究,故採取計畫性抽樣,以深度訪談的方式蒐集資料,並佐以文獻資料,以期建構台灣中小型家族企業策略形成之模型。
研究中,以家族導向及事業導向兩個構面將家族企業做分類,並將策略形成之模式分為理性規劃及隨機浮現兩大類,研究之結論為:
一、事業導向低之家族企業偏向以隨機浮現的方式形成其經營策略。
二、事業導向高之家族企業需視其家族導向之高低,事業導向高且家族導向低之家族企業則偏向以理性規劃的方式形成其經營策略。
三、事業導向高且家族導向亦高之家族企業則需視非家族成員介入策略形成過程程度之高低,若非家族成員介入程度高則偏向以理性規劃的方式形成經營策略,反之,則多以隨機浮現的方式形成。
四、以理性規劃方式形成之經營策略多為定期之策略規劃,故多為主動尋找問題,並規劃之。
五、以隨機浮現方式形成之經營策略多為對問題作反應,偏向被動反應式之動機。
六、由於環境之不確定性及多變性,即使採用理性規劃方式形成策略之家族企業亦必須不定期對問題作反應,亦即採用理性規劃方式形成策略之家族企業仍不能避免有隨機浮現的策略形成。
七、無論經營策略形成的方式為何,家族企業中經營策略之決策一律為家族企業之家長。
