Inner court amalgamated dwelling is a new developing form of housing in these days. Besides the form of housing distribu- tion is different from previous whole-building or double apart- ment, the main advantage of inner court amalgamated dwelling is it increases the "common space" of the residents. In this inve- stigation, the main objective is to discuss the space utility and management problems which, easily being neglected, have direct connection with the maintainance of living quality. The main methods used in this investigation are reference collection, case studies, the observation of current environ- ment, the talk with employer and the question-poll of the resi- dents. This research can be divided into three main parts: 1. The type and speciatlity of the inner court amalgamated dwelling This investigation employs the statistics-factors and clusters analysis methods to discuss the type and speciality of the Taichung fourth and fifth conciliation including ninety- eight cases. 2. The utilizing problems of "common space" This part mainly makes a comparison to the satisfaction per- centage of using different "common space" and various housing types in these case studies. 3. The management problem of "common space" In addition, this investigation discusses some management pro- blems of the Inner court amalgamated dwelling,it also compared the residents''''satisfaction percentage of various housing types with different management types. Combined the analysis results of above three parts,this in- vestigation provided some suggestions, advices and the research direction of future studies for those interested peoples.
