本研究之目的在於瞭解幼兒假扮遊戲中如何呈現心智理論的內涵。
本研究對象為一位男孩,於他四歲半到五歲半期間,以觀察、訪談及文件蒐集的方式,探究他在幼稚園玩假扮遊戲時呈現心智理論的情形。
研究發現,幼兒在假扮遊戲時,一方面會暫時跳脫出扮演的架構,在和他人協調想像物、角色、情節、及玩法之時,呈現心智理論;
另一方面,在假扮遊戲實際進行的角色、玩物、動作、情境的轉換之時,亦呈現了心智理論。幼兒在假扮遊戲時呈現心智理論的情形包括:不會被假裝的替代物、動作、角色、情境所混淆的「區分表面與錯誤信念」,使用「情感性角色取替」能力推論對方情緒,以及運用「真實」的能力,會從他人的行動及反應中推測其「相信欲求」、「意圖」、「欺騙」技巧使自己擁有假扮玩物或使假扮遊戲持續進行。
最後根據研究發現,研究者分別對幼教師、家長與未來研究者提出具體建議。
