瑜珈起源印度,包含體位法、呼吸法和冥想法,經許多研究證實,能促進健康,對生、心理疾病也有成效。國內瑜珈研究,大多為單一主題,缺乏全面性與完整性,故本文用文獻分析法,探討瑜珈對心理與生理效用,增進國人對瑜珈瞭解。以CEPS、SDOS、MEDLINE電子資料庫為主,從2000年至2010年;對象為18歲以上成人;研究須為實驗法或前、後測之實驗設計,共99篇研究納入本研究的文獻分析。研究結果顯示瑜珈對心理效益研究共40篇,有39篇顯示有效,顯示瑜珈對心理有成效,包括降低憂鬱、消除壓力、減少焦慮、促進生活品質、改善睡眠品質;瑜珈對生理效益研究共59篇,有56篇顯示有效用,大部分研究結果顯示瑜珈對生理有效,包括體適能、肌肉骨骼、心肺功能、神經系統方面;瑜珈不受性別影響,對男性或女性,皆有心理和生理層面效益;瑜珈不受限年紀,研究證實瑜珈對中老年人確實有心理和生理助益;99篇研究中,研究對象種類很多,大部份研究顯示都有效,表示瑜珈適合社會大眾練習。未來研究建議:應該長時間後續追蹤,才能更深入瞭解瑜珈對人體生心理的效用;瑜珈派別種類多,可研究何種瑜珈適合哪些對象練習,始可獲得最大之效益。
Yoga, including Asana, Pranayama and Dhyana, originated in India. Many studies indicated that yoga exercises had proved to be effective to both mental and physiological disorders. Therefore, with the method of literature review, the study aimed to investigate how yoga participants improved their mental and physiological health. It was hoped that the results of analysis could better Taiwan nationals’ understanding of yoga. 99 empirical studies between 2000 and 2010 were selected from the databases CEPS, SDOS and MEDLINE. The experimental subjects in the studies were adults over 18 years of age. The following were the major results 39 out of the 40 articles exploring yoga for mental health proved effective. The yoga participants improved on depression, anxiety, stress, living quality and sleeping quality. 56 out of the 59 papers discussing yoga for physiological health proved effective. Much physical strength was promoted: physical fitness, bones and muscles, cardiopulmonary functions, and nerve systems. Both male and female yoga practitioners improved mentally and physiologically. No age limits on yoga practice middle-aged and senior people could also benefit. For further research, researchers can conduct a long-term, follow-up study to better understand the benefits of yoga on mental and physiological health.Investigate how different types of yoga work best for varied groups.
