The traditional planing theory of public facilities mainly considers neighborhood nuit as a basic facility-planing unit ,little studying if it is necessary about the standard of apartment''''s facilities under neighborhood scale . From 80''''s on , a lot of apartments , especially private ones , planning some living and recreational facilities ( such as swimming pool、meeting room 、children''''s play space and so on) in Taiwan''''s many communities. The first aim of this paper is to investigate what attitude the occupants to living and recreational facilities , and what kinds of facilities is more important in their thinking 、what kinds of occupants need what kind''''s facilities and so on. Secondly ; this paper want to understand what trobles did the apartment''''s facilities meet in useing and therefore try to suggest renewed code or other''''s method to solve it.The important results of the reserch are as followed. The occupants have strong needs to communitie''''s facilities . Above all , they need some kinds of facilities such as green court 、swimming pool 、 play space and table tennis 、 snooker facilities and so on. Secondly , There are many differencies in thinking between occupatants and planner. Lastly , there are many problems in using and conserning codes which needs to be solved.
