In the mechanical engineering, civil engineering and aerospace industry now, the application of threaded pipe connectors are very general in industry, especially the application in the junction for high pressure pipe. Take hydraulic and pneumatic system as an example: In order to avoid the threaded pipe connector for leakage or broken, it is important to obtain the stress and deformation information in connector during service. This paper is mainly focus on the stress-strain analysis of threaded pipe connector ( NPT) under tensile loading. Finite element method and software (ANSYS ) are used to perform the various kinds of the stress and strain analysis. The result of the study shows that when the threaded pipe connection is under tensile loading, the stress concentration effect occurs on the two extremities of the thread. This effect would degrade the strength of the threaded pipe connector and become the key factor of failure. It also shows that the number of mating threads would affect the strength of threaded pipe joint. Besides, more screwing length can’t increase the strength of threaded pipe connectors.
