Conventionally, in order to conduct the adiabatic temperature rise test of mass concrete, a large scale of simulated specimen is needed, which is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive, but also requires substaintial funds. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to develop a device, which is easy to operate, small in size and easy to carry, for measuring the adiabatic temperature rise of concrete. This research carried out two tests on concrete specimens with two different mixture proportions to examine the performance of the developed device. During the process of test, the SCR temperature controller is adopted to control the consistent temperature between the internal and external bucket to achieve the condition of non-heat exchange. The results of the tests exhibited that the developed device can measure the adiabatic temperature rise of fresh concrete accurately under the condition of non-heat exchange.
