A simulation program was developed to provide the functions of zoom in and zoom out to view the photos in different scale which is similar to the Google Maps. The developed program was applied to the education of the nanotechnology to provide an effective tool for the simulation of the nanotechnology phenomena. The user can use the zooming program to view the phenomena and the cause of the phenomena and to understand the related knowledge of the phenomena. It is a great help to the education of the nanotechnology. The lotus leaf phenomenon and butterfly wing phenomenon are used as the demonstration of nanotechnology of the scale effect. The photos which are needed in the demonstrations are taken by a digital SLR camera, an optical microscopy and an electron microscopy. The taken photos are pretreatmented before they can be used by the zooming program. The hydrophobic surface of the lotus leaf and the surface structure of the butterfly wing can be seen clearly by the simulation program of zooming. It provides an effective tool to view the nano phenomena and have a experience of reality of nano phenomena.
