The "Ritual of Faithful Islander", composed in 2017, is based on the theme of Taiwan's religions. Composer Ren Zhong deployed a variety of musical materials were used in the work, including Hakka music, Taiwanese aboriginal music and Chinese opera music. Since its premiere in 2017 at "The Festive Series of Banqiao Music Festival", the Erhu concerto illustrated an image that how different musical materials and musical patterns can reflect the cultural aspects of Taiwanese ritual and spiritual heritages. This work seemed to be combined with different images which had headings on each sections. From the perspective of the form analysing, each section of the work was used to begin in a introducting passage, and it can also be analysed as a binary form. In this work, the technique of legato strings crossing was borrowed from violin. Due to the different structure of musical instruments, it would be harder for Erhu to control this technique. Therefore, the article would rely on the materials and compositional technique, and bring up the technique and interpretation on this work.
