此論文應用榮格的「母親原型」和「阿尼姆斯」(女人內在的男人特質)之精神分析理論，探討電影《靈異拼圖》中女主角泰莉‧帕芮塔的自我身分認同之追尋過程，進而達到「陽型母親」的最終完形。而此新衍生的母親原型在此研究裡被視為一種新的「跨-原型」之觀念。
再者，《靈異拼圖》中母親原型的不足及其造成原生母子磁場 (the Generator of Eternal Mother, GEM)的失衡藉由女主角泰莉自己從前懷孕的記憶再取得，她不只找回生命中的摯愛兒子，且完成自我的母親身份之確認及再確認。本研究，因此，將以「永恆母親」和「懷孕記憶」作為原生母子磁場的啟動者，探討此場域的縫合與運作。
此論文共分為四個章節討論。第一章解釋研究動機與方向，其包含理論架構、研究問題、文獻探討及電影文本介紹。第二章將探討「陽型母親」的形成和懷孕記憶的關係，以及母子共棲鍊的形成與父親的嬰孩欽羨。第三章將檢視原生母子磁場的失衡源自父親的嬰孩嫉妒及神秘力量的化身，其縫合再現猶如莫比烏斯環，運行於此場域。最後一章結論總結《靈異拼圖》中女主角泰莉的個體化過程和轉變為例子來分析，呈現自我追尋的結果與完整性及所隱含之母親原型的現今意義，以及揭露人類文明中「永恆母親」的不朽價值。

The thesis, based on the concepts of the mother archetype and the animus from C. G. Jung, will focus on the search for the self-identity of the protagonist Telly Paretta in the 2004 film The Forgotten. Apart from the analysis of the character of mother archetype, this study develops a new trans-archetype called Animus-Mother archetype, which is a symbol of wholeness, completion, and eternality. In applying textual analysis with a psychoanalytic approach to The Forgotten, this thesis will therefore regard Telly as the prototype of the Animus-Mother.
In addition, this study, will examine the role of the first memory and the strong bond between a mother and a child, which is able to be retrieved from an abstract, form/less space called the Generator of Eternal Mother (GEM). With the emergence of the first memory and the transition of the GEM, Telly eventually finds her son back and re-confirms her true identity as a mother. This thesis will thus take the term "Eternal Mother" and "the first memory" as an agent of the GEM to examine the operation of suture of space, and its implication to the formation of the mother’s identity and the ultimate establishment of the Animus-Mother.
There are four chapters in this thesis, Chapter One explains the motivation and major direction of the research which include theoretical approaches, research questions, and literature reviews. Chapter Two explicates the relation between formation of the Animus-Mother and the first memory and the formation of the symbiotic chain and the father's infant envy. Chapter Three examines the distorted GEM given from the father's infant envy and the mystical power. The suture of the GEM is like the structure of the Möbius strip functions in the circular movement. The last chapter concludes the search and re-search as the complete formation of I, the Animus-Mother today in The Forgotten, and the Eternal Mother as universal value of human civilization.
