本研究的目的是觀察並探討外敷如意金黃散與口服接骨散在骨折癒合過程中的生化學上和病理學上的影響。研究之宗旨著眼在提供中醫骨傷學對骨折治療的作用探討。
本研究在材料上係以大白鼠的左腓脛骨中段，用定點手法造成閉合性骨折，隨機分為對照組，林格氏液組，外敷如意金黃散組，內服接骨散組，合併外敷如意金黃散與內服接骨散組。定4天、8天、12天三個觀察點，觀察大白鼠體重的變化；分別測定：脯氨酸(Hydroxyproline)含量，DNA、RNA與蛋白質的合成速率，分析微量元素，並觀其X光與病理之變化。實驗結果顯示，用藥組的體重下降較不明顯。用藥組的 脯氨酸含量及對DNA、RNA與蛋白質的合成速率均明顯高於對照組，尤其是合併外敷如意金黃散組與內服接骨散組。而用藥組的骨折癒合過程進展亦比對照組迅速。用藥組的骨痂生成較有規律，而病理切片顯示合併用藥組骨折端癒合處，已形成編織骨，開始改建。結論是外敷如意金黃散與內服接骨散為骨折癒合創造了有利的條件。

The purpose of this study was to observe the biochemical and pathological effects of ru-yih-jin-huang-saan (RYJHS) and jie-guu-saan (JGS) on experimental fracture healing of the rat. Seventy-five rats were fractured in the middle of left tibia and fibula by the standard manual method. They were divided randomly into experimental and control groups. They were intraperitoneally injected with Ringer''s solution, used RYJHS externally or fed with JGS respectively. The animals were executed at 4, 8, and 12 days after fracture. The contents of hydroxyproline, synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein, trace element analysis, radiation and pathological studies were observed.
The results demonstrated that the experimental groups were earlier and more thorough than the control group, especially in the combined group of RTJHS and JGS, in the collagen formation, bone cell metabolism, enzyme system, x-ray and pathological studies
