尼克萊．卡爾洛維奇．梅特納（Nikolai Karlovich Medtner, 1880-1951），是個傑出的、備受同輩推崇的俄國作曲家。本論文旨在將梅特納的《被遺忘的旋律第一集，作品三十八》（Forgotten Melodie I, Op. 38）中的八首曲子，做曲式、旋律素材及和聲面向的分析，來嘗試了解這個作品的結構及詮釋方法，另也將有關梅特納生平及作曲背景的文獻做整理。期望能藉由這個研究，對梅特納這個人和他的鋼琴曲作曲手法能有概略的認識，並提供演奏者們詮釋梅特納鋼琴作品的參考依據。

本論文共分三章，第一章旨在介紹梅特納的生平、第二章為八首曲子的分析及演奏探討、第三章則為結論。
